Axon Moore are working with a well-established business operating across the UK to appoint an experienced Property Accountant to look after part of their portfolio covering commercial sectors, including retail, offices, industrial and mixed-use development sites.

The role will hold responsibility for the service charge reporting, budgeting and reconciliation for a portfolio of commercial and private properties. The team is growing! You will join a team of 4 Property Accountants, working within a larger team in Finance.

Salary and benefits:

Salary - £35,000 - £45,000 DOE plus study support, 25 days holiday plus banks, 5% pension, private medical insurance and cash-plan hybrid working, 3 x Life Assurance, city centre location with hybrid working 2 days from home.

Responsibilities include:
  • Review and approve expenditure coding for accuracy prior to posting into QUBE as final sign off for property
  • Producing Budget Vs. Expenditure Reports and presenting to AM and PM for discussion on quarterly basis
  • Prepare service charge accounts and associated schedules for auditors and deal with any queries
  • Resolving any third party property queries in a timely manner
  • Calculating service charge caps
  • Close down the service charge period and raising of balancing credits/charges
  • Update QUBE with final budgets and apportionments
  • Produce tenant apportionment summaries and create periodic charges
  • Raise monthly/quarterly rent and service charge demands
  • Calculate and raise turnover rent demands
  • Raising of recharge invoices to tenant
  • Take responsibility for outstanding debt and chasing PM/AM for outcome.
  • Weekly bank reconciliations and produce summary of cash balances
  • Month end routine.
  • Recharging insurance to tenants
  • Ad-hoc charges
  • Liaising with client and sending reports as per agreed terms
  • Forecasting service charge funding requirements
  • Assisting in Transfer of funds from and to landlord
Experience & Skill Requirements:
  • Experience in property accounting and service charge reporting
  • Experience using MRI QUBE would be beneficial
  • Strong knowledge of excel, being able to manipulate data (vlookups, pivot tables etc)
  • Positive attitude and desire to develop professionally
  • Demonstrable high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Real estate management awareness and industry knowledge
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate accuracy and pay attention to detail
  • Work in a mature, courteous and professional manner
