Are you an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant looking for your next step up into a Finance Manager/Controller position with an entrepreneurial, acquisitive and fast growing SME?

This is a rare and exceptional opportunity for an ambitious and commercially astute Finance Manager, to work directly under the MD and Board of Directors of this Harrogate based SME in a newly created role!

The business are in a period of growth, and as a result are now looking to hire a high calibre number 2 to the FD/MD, who can support the business with up to date financial reporting and analysis, management accounts production and advising the board.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in the growth strategy, and as a result have the opportunity to progress to board/Director level in the next 1-3 years.

The business are in the process of moving to brand new offices in Harrogate, where this role will be based 2-3 days per week - but the MD is happy to be flexible with remote and office working patterns!

The initial key duties of this role will include:
  • Production of monthly Management Accounts and further account analysis for the Directors.
  • Assist with the production of half year and year end statutory financial statements.
  • Support the MD with analysis, reporting and influencing key business decisions
  • Regular reviewing of key financial controls
  • Budgeting, forecasting and reconciliation of key financial measures on a monthly basis.
  • Support with ad hoc projects and analysis.
  • Working on process and reporting improvements with the MD
  • Business partnering internally and with external clients

The successful candidate will:
  • Be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (QBE will also be considered) - Essential
  • Have a minimum of 3 years experience within a relevant management accounts/business partnering role - Essential
  • Have exceptional communication and presentation skills and the ability to engage and influence - Essential
  • Have strong reporting and MS Excel knowledge - Essential
