My client is a long established Multi Academy Trust, with their schools based across the South and South East of London.
An opportunity has arisen to join one of the secondary academies in the Trust as their School Business Manager. With the support of a long established central services team, this role will be responsible for strategic management of all non-academic support functions within the Academy, taking responsibility for Finance, HR, IT, Facilities and broader school administration.
The role will sit on the leadership team and enjoy early responsibility and autonomy.
Reporting into the Head, the role focusses on the commercial management of all non teaching aspects of the school. You’ll ensure a best in class service is delivered by the teams, providing leadership and support to all the support staff. Key to the role will be ensuring that value for money is achieved with all school provision, including contract management of key products and services as required by the school. You’ll act as a trusted confidant to the senior leadership team, helping them to fulfil their educational objectives within budget and advising on implications of any proposed changes. You’ll manage the HR function to ensure that all contracts, policies and processes are kept up to date with any legislative change, as well as overseeing any employer relations matters as they arise. Overseeing the IT and premises team, ensuring any cyclical updates or upkeep requirements are managed.
Candidates are sought with previous experience within school business management roles, team management experience, alongside strong organisational skills and commercial knowhow.
