A key leadership position within a forward-looking and diverse property, farming, and leisure business predominantly situated between Telford and Wolverhampton. This Finance Director position will not only ensure effective financial management of the current enterprises but also help to shape the development of a dynamic business that has custodianship, innovation and sustainability at its core.
THE POSITION:
- Lead and develop the finance team to ensure that it provides insightful management accounts, completes timely reporting, and delivers a robust financial planning cycle.
- Seek out opportunities to enhance efficiency including through the adoption of new technologies and systems.
- Develop strong relationships internally and externally to ensure that the finance function supports decision-making and optimises capital and tax structures and cash flow for each business.
- Play a key role, as part of the business’s senior leadership, in developing and scrutinising business plans and investment opportunities, and reinforcing a positive and inclusive culture.
THE CANDIDATE:
- A qualified accountant with a well-grounded and broad commercial perspective (ideally within property investment, development and/or management) and an empathy for long-term, family-owned businesses.
- A confident executive who has the gravitas and communication skills to influence decision-making at the most senior levels.
- A determined but modest leader who has a collegiate approach and inherently cares about creating and supporting a positive and enjoyable work environment.
- A consummate professional who has an eye for detail, is intellectually agile and who readily rolls-up his/her sleeves to support colleagues to deliver the best result. A knowledge of trusts and diverse corporate structures would be advantageous but is not a pre-requisite.
