A key leadership position within a forward-looking and diverse property, farming, and leisure business predominantly situated between Telford and Wolverhampton.  Bradford Estates is a family-owned business with deep historical roots, a keen awareness its role in local communities, and a clear desire to act as a catalyst for growth and positive change.  This Finance Director position will not only ensure effective financial management of the current enterprises but also help to shape the development of a dynamic business that has custodianship, innovation and sustainability at its core.

THE POSITION:

  • Lead and develop the finance team to ensure that it provides insightful management accounts, completes timely reporting, and delivers a robust financial planning cycle.
  • Seek out opportunities to enhance efficiency including through the adoption of new technologies and systems.
  • Develop strong relationships internally and externally to ensure that the finance function supports decision-making and optimises capital and tax structures and cash flow for each business.
  • Play a key role, as part of the business’s senior leadership, in developing and scrutinising business plans and investment opportunities, and reinforcing a positive and inclusive culture.

THE CANDIDATE:

  • A qualified accountant with a well-grounded and broad commercial perspective (ideally within property investment, development and/or management) and an empathy for long-term, family-owned businesses. 
  • A confident executive who has the gravitas and communication skills to influence decision-making at the most senior levels.
  • A determined but modest leader who has a collegiate approach and inherently cares about creating and supporting a positive and enjoyable work environment.
  • A consummate professional who has an eye for detail, is intellectually agile and who readily rolls-up his/her sleeves to support colleagues to deliver the best result. A knowledge of trusts and diverse corporate structures would be advantageous but is not a pre-requisite.
