Axon Moore have been engaged by a private equity backed business based in Huddersfield to assist in hiring an impressive Management Accountant. The business is a major player in a rapidly growing market at the forefront with its leading technology, approach and services.

Alongside the PE investment the business is also undertaking various acquisitions at present which will all make for excellent experience and exposure to enhance your finance career.
 

The role will be involved, challenging and varied with tasks and duties including but not limited to:

  • Maintaining P&L and balance sheet including detailed reconciliations against budget and forecast for review by HOF
  • Assisting HOF with consolidation accounting
  • Producing management accounts, assisting FC with production of quarterly review and budget packs for HOF
  • Assisting FC with development of sales and accounts assistant roles, ensuring financial ledgers are accurate and reconciled
  • Liaising with the Commercial team to reconcile customer accounts and debtor reports and assist with their month end reporting
  • Involvement in the month end job cost review process including report preparation
  • Interrogation of key central overhead accounts, including cost allocation and accruals management
  • Reviewing the subcontract and purchase ledger and the purchase to pay process
  • Assisting in the delivery of the monthly, quarterly and annual finance timetable
  • Preparation of data/reports for central overhead budget holders
  • Assisting with year end audit process
  • Preparation of reporting documents for HMRC, including PAYE, CIS, VAT
  • Conducting ad hoc analysis as requested by HOF
  • Assisting in data gathering for use in future acquisitions or disposals 


We are looking for ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified individuals with the following experience, skills and characteristics:

 

  • Long-term contract accounting experience
  • Construction experience preferred
  • P&L and balance sheet management experience
  • Forecasting/budgeting experience
  • Strong analytical skills required, particularly Excel
  • Strong reporting capability – clear, concise, accurate and well-presented
  • Experience of close cash management essential
  • Positive, determined, resilient, ambitious, hard-working team-player
  • Excellent communicator
