Axon Moore are working with a successful business in Huddersfield who are looking to recruit an Interim Transactional Manager who will help improve & shape their growing finance function; maintaining and implementing financial controls whilst leading and developing the finance team.

The role will manage a large team and drive improvements across the departments whilst interfacing smoothly with the rest of finance and the business.  Looking to share best practice and develop the team, you will enjoy delivering projects.  The role is largely based in the office and could lead to a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities as Interim Transactional Manager:
  • Overall responsibility for team management and activity in the transactional finance team, including the treasury team, purchase ledger, sales ledger, payment processing
  • Daily cash management and large transactional approvals
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded and reconciled
  • Oversight for day to day processing of all subsidiary company financial processes
  • Maintain and implement financial reporting systems to comply with regulations and legislation
  • Work closely with the finance ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner, enabling an efficient monthly reporting cycle
  • Examine all financial reports and date closely to check for discrepancies
  • Collaborate with auditing partners to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
  • Motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing feedback, encouragement and coaching
  • Responsibility for annual insurance renewals and ongoing insurance policy and vehicle fleet incidents
  • Lead projects focused on updates and improvements to accounting systems, including process automation
  • Support and participate in cross departmental projects as required
  • Build strong trust and relationships with key internal stakeholders
  • Ad-hoc analysis to support finance, senior management and the board of directors

Key requirements
  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or qualified by experience
  • Previous background of working within a shared service centre environment either as a Transactional Manager / Head of Shared Services / Financial Controller
  • Excellent people management / leadership skills
  • Ability to oversee a team successfully managing big data and a high volume of transactions
  • Experienced in creating & maintaining robust financial controls and processes
  • Strong excel skills and confident with multiple systems
  • Keen eye for efficiencies and strong business improvement skills
  • Robust, confident, positive character who can articulate themselves excellently and communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels
