An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a strong and experienced finance team at my client a local government organisation.

We are seeking an experienced individual to support the Corporate Finance Manager and to oversee our Finance Systems and debt management team.

Are you a Finance professional with a proven history of successful team management?
Are you forward thinking, innovative with a desire to make a positive impact?
Have you been engaged in and influenced successful projects?
Do you have an excellent accounting background with significant Finance systems knowledge and a sound understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) (e SAP) financial systems?
Are you comfortable delivering training related to financial management?
Do you have a sound understanding of credit control and Debt management?

If the answer to these questions is yes, this could be the role for you.

As Finance manager of an established, and highly motivated, Finance Systems and debt management team, you will lead the team of individuals, who provide a diverse range of financial and technical support to a broad range of services and stakeholders across the organisation. You will also assume overall responsibility for financial reporting and credit control for all customer invoiced debt for the Council In addition to the standard finance support, you will take a lead Finance role for several finance process improvement projects.

Your drive to improve governance, efficiency and process will mean you often initiate these projects, plan them and project manage them to successful conclusion. Reporting directly to the Corporate Finance manager, the successful candidate will provide management support, attend, and contribute to high-level meetings including board meetings. You will be expected to present at these meetings on occasions, adapting your style to the relevant audience

You should be a strong leader, and someone who is committed to creating a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence.

A qualified accountant (e. CIPFA, ACCA etc), with significant knowledge, skills and experience of working at a senior level in a finance team within a large and complex organisation. Strategic Finance are professional and supportive. There is an opportunity to put your own mark on finance process improvement projects, to use your own initiative and be involved in key decisions.
