Management Accountant | Oxfordshire, Hybrid Working | Salary up to £47,556.00 per annum

A rare opening within a prestigious company for a new Management Accountant to join their ranks. A new and exciting hybrid role in Oxfordshire,  this role offers the successful candidate the chance to further their financial career in the public sector, working with and learning from the best.

The Company: 

  • A wholly-owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority
  • Executive Non-Departmental Public Body of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

The Role: 

As the new Management Accountant, you will be part of a new high-performing Management Accounting capability within a fast-growing and highly stable organisation.

  • This is a high-profile role reporting to the Financial Controller.
  • The role will provide an important link between the Financial Planning & Analysis, Business Partnering and Financial Operations teams whilst supporting non-finance colleagues across the organisation.
  • Close liaison and interaction with the executive team, senior management, operations and programme/project managers, as well as Group Finance and Internal Audit teams.
  • The role holder is responsible for delivering management accounting within nominated Lines of Business.
  • They are responsible for the preparation and integrity of the management accounts whilst supporting the drive for continuous improvement in financial controls, processes and the use of business systems.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Working towards a recognised accountancy qualification (e. CIMA) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience gained in a similar role: including collaborative working in cross-functional teams; ability to determine business needs and develop insightful management information using specialist financial reporting tools; experience in forecasting and cost estimation. ICT literate with extensive knowledge of finance systems, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word and good Excel skills. Awareness of Government Accounting and Managing Public Money would be beneficial.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, high level of accuracy and attention to detail, ability to manage time to meet external and internal deadlines, diplomatic, tact and confidentiality. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are required as the post holder will be expected to engage with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally
