Finance Manager Governance
Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role
Salary: £50k depending on experience
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting all Financial Assurance activities for the Submarines business. Including the testing and assurance of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR). Your audit reports will be written for the Business Leadership and the Executive Committee of BAE Systems plc
- Supporting the broader BAE organisation to prepare for UK Corporate Reform through review of the existing Financial Controls Framework
- Support the continued assessment of control performance and implement improvements, where identified
- Coordinating external and internal audits acting as primary point of contact
- Influencing key business stakeholders to drive business improvement through the timely closure of audit actions
- Play a critical role in ensuring finance Risk and Control Matrices are in place and updated for all relevant finance processes
- Leading the quarterly Control Owner Self-Assessment activity, including the review and challenge of results with the Finance Director
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Finance Qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse complex issues
- Ability to review, document and understand complex systems or processes
- Ability to communicate at every level
Desirable:
- Strong financial control knowledge is advantageous (US Sox knowledge)
- Ability to understand the usage of data within the business, and using appropriate techniques and tools, draw appropriate conclusions

The Finance Control Team:
As a Finance Assurance Manager for BAE Systems Submarines, you will support the Finance Director in ensuring the business has a robust financial control environment, ensuring compliance with the requirements of the BAE Group Financial Control Framework and Finance Policies Manual.
