Tax Manager Personal Tax Bias North Dorset Sherborne ATT CTA

You will be working for the Family Office of an entrepreneurial high net worth Family. The Family Office looks after the personal financial affairs of various family members and the accounting and compliance for numerous Family financial interests. The office is located near the Somerset/Dorset border and they are looking to expand their Tax team by the addition of a new role of Tax Manager. This role would provide ideal progression for a Tax Manager or Tax Senior from a small or medium sized practice who is looking for the next step in their career.

Reporting directly to the Deputy Head of Office in charge of compliance, you will manage the day-to-day tax compliance, including direct supervision of the Senior Tax Assistant. This is an interesting and varied Mixed Tax role with a strong Personal Tax bias and you will be involved in transactions from planning, through implementation and on to reporting. Whilst your key responsibility will be tax compliance, there is ample opportunity to expand your tax advisory knowledge and experience and there are also opportunities for occasional travel within the UK and overseas. This is very much a hands-on role working within a supportive team environment and for the right candidate there is a clear route for progression to a senior management position equivalent to Partner level in a small practice.

The successful individual will be a confident and proficient tax adviser, probably CTA qualified, with at least two years of Personal Tax experience within a practice environment, although applications from ATT qualified tax advisers with significant practice experience will also be considered. Ideally you will have private client experience dealing with the tax compliance for Shareholders, Directors and their related OMBs but you will need to be adaptable, creative and ready for a role that is a little different from the norm. Sound practice experience is required but the role offers more scope to develop your skills and grow your expertise. If you have some experience of Corporation Tax and VAT, with knowledge of CIS this would be an advantage but you will need to be someone who enjoys working on their own or as part of a wider team, as being a team player is key.

In return you will be in a role with no requirement to complete timesheets!
