I'm delighted to be partnered with a leading local property business based in Sheffield in their search for a unique finance role following the retirement of a longstanding member of staff.

A small, close knit, successful business, the organisation provide wide-ranging expertise on all things property, ranging from acquisition and management to lettings, valuations and general advisory amongst others.

The organisation have a strong reputation across South Yorkshire and have an enviable portfolio of clients across the board including high profile, high net worth individuals. As such, this appointment is a key appointment to support the business delivery working in partnership with the client portfolio to deliver an continually effective service delivery.

Your new role

You will take on responsibility for all aspects of rent and service charge accounting using our client's property management software, with duties including:

  • Producing tenant invoices for rent, service charge, insurance and utility recharges on a monthly / quarterly basis
  • Receipt of all tenant income
  • Tenant arrears chasing and maintaining tenant accounts
  • Producing client statements on quarterly / monthly basis
  • Submitting VAT Returns
  • Liaison with clients and their advisors and producing relevant reports
  • Making supplier payments
  • Undertaking bank reconciliations
  • Dealing with tenant and supplier queries.
  • Production of annual service charge statements
  • Allocating payments and updating the system with incoming funds
  • Inputting the expenditure on to the property system
  • Setting up new properties on to the property system
  • Preparing service charge budgets and year end reconciliation
  • Client account reconciliation

What you'll need to succeed

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Ideally be CCAB qualified/AAT Qualified or Qualified by suitable experience
  • Good working knowledge of accountancy software (Xero preferable)
  • Strong Excel skills
  • PC literate inc. MS Office
  • Confident and professional
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Attention to detail

What you'll get in return

  • Salary negotiable depending upon experience c.£40,000 - £45,000 p/a
