Financial Controller

Finance Manager job in North Wales for a growing manufacturing business.


Hays are working closely with a growing manufacturing business who have recently made two acquisitions in the UK. They are now working on a harmonisation project to streamline all processes and centralise finance. The result of this transformation is the creation of a new UK Finance Manager role which will report directly to the UK MD. This role will be No1 in finance in the UK and manage a small team of assistants for the various entities.

Key duties will include -

• Monthly Close & Report Preparation

− Prepare and submit Journals
− Reconcile major control accounts monthly
− Ensure timely preparation

• Generate UK financial statements and analyse drivers for external and internal users as needed
• Report Preparation

− Support all processes with any requested financial reports and assist with any questions

• Treasury/Banking

− Prepare and make all payments including overseas
− Manage the balance between multiple bank accounts

• Audit/Review Support

− Provide requested information for audits
− Prepare Audit/Review Reports
− Answer or add clarity for auditor questions

• Cost Management and Control

- Update inventory with latest costs
- Development of budget
- Control cost centre

• Management and development of staff

We are looking for a hands on and proven Accountant who wants to join a business going though change and growth. As the senior finance contact in the business you would be the sounding board for the MD on all finance matters and liaise with external audits and investors. There are multiple sites that form this business and the role holder must be flexible and able to travel if needed.
