Ofqual has a fantastic opportunity for a Management Accounting Manager to develop and deliver effective financial insight and reporting for budget holders. 

You will play a critical role in a talented team that is passionate about providing a high-quality end-to-end service across Ofqual. The team plays a central part in 

providing expert advice, enabling effective forecasting, delivering good value and presenting data-driven insight to support strategic decision-making. You will manage the development and production of management accounts reports and dashboards that will underpin the effective and efficient management of Ofqual's resources.

We are looking for an experienced management accountant with a proven ability to inspire, motivate and develop staff to deliver a great quality service.


Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the preparation, interpretation and presentation of in-year financial information into the monthly financial reports
  • Provide assurance on integrity of information on financial systems, advising on the correct accounting treatment of transactions
  • Provide financial analysis and insight, through meaningful variance analysis commentary including risk management, mitigating actions, deep dives or financial modelling
  • Lead the development of financial data capture to enable scenario planning and flexible reporting
  • Ensure effective controls are in place to maintain accuracy of data in financial systems
  • Ensure the team delivers the month-end activities in a timely manner and to the required standard
  • Develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including budget holders and directorate managers, ensuring that activities of the team create value in seeking to achieve common goals, and meet the diverse needs of the stakeholders
