Description
A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Accountant to join the Accounting team based in the UK. You will be responsible for the delivery of strategic, timely and accurate advice and reports to the Board and respective Controlling teams, working closely with the Head of Accounting and stakeholders across the Group.
You will manage and report on the accounting for fixed assets, leases and month-end reports to senior stakeholders. You will also prepare and deliver the annual statutory accounts and regulatory reporting assignments as well as being a key player in managing the relationship with the external auditors. Additionally you will contribute to the forecasting process especially with regard to the Facility Management side of the business, managing relationships with stakeholders and making recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide robust financial control, support and challenge as required.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data produced and reported to senior partners.
- Contribute to fixed assets and lease accounting for month-end reporting.
- Advise on accounting treatment for fixed assets and leases.
- Manage preparation of statutory accounts in close cooperation with auditors.
- Prepare and present management reporting, forecasts and plans to senior stakeholders.
- Analysing key financials and value drivers and providing management with timely and accurate information to enable effective decision-making.
- Provide cover for team members.
- Assist with the implementation and testing of new accounting system.
Profile
- A technically adept, qualified accountant with a recognised accounting body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) ideally with over 5 years industry experience.
- Experienced in statutory accounts preparation under UK GAAP.
- Good knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and UK GAAP with particular focus on fixed assets and lease accounting.
- A disciplined approach with an eye for detail and high quality of output.
- Highly organised and efficient.
- Calm manner with flexibility to adapt to time pressure.
- Proven stakeholder management experience demonstrating excellent communication of both finance and non-finance colleagues.
- Inquisitive mindset, comfortable challenging current ways of working to drive improvements.
- SAP experience.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills with particular focus on Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
