Finance Manager / Snr Management Accountant

Our client is a Private Equity backed international supply and services group of companies providing a vital service.

The Group has ambitious plans for rapid growth in the UK and Europe, which should provide great opportunities for the right candidate to develop a successful and rewarding career as it expands.

This role is to support the core UK service business which operates from +20 sites across the UK

The role is hybrid; the candidate will likely be required in South Oxfordshire / 2-3 days/week and some limited UK travel to operating centres may be required at times.

Core responsibilities:

Ensure that Management Accounts for the division are delivered in a timely, correct and informative manner

  • Ensure that relevant balance sheet reconciliations are carried out regularly and accurately
  • Ensure that the financial information flowing into Power BI for centre and divisional management is accurate and meaningful
  • Work with centre and divisional management to identify trends, issues or opportunities to support management decision making
  • Lead development of the divisional budget and reforecasts as required
  • Work with the rest of the Finance department to develop and improve processes to ensure that transactions are processed smoothly and correct the first time
  • Provide Financial Modelling & input to Tenders/Opportunities/Improvement Projects
  • Support the audit of the relevant entities

Essential skills and experience

  • Qualified accountant, PQ approaching qualification or effectively qualified by virtue of deep experience
  • Passionate about producing accurate and timely reporting while at the same time being able to see beyond the numbers to understand the underlying business dynamics
  • Experience in both producing management accounts and working with management to make use of them
  • Experience working with a substantial ERP system (Navision ideal)
  • Excellent skills in Excel and other Office programmes
  • Full eligibility to work within the UK without restriction

Desirable skills and experience

  • Experience working across multi-site, inventory-holding groups of companies incorporating intercompany trading
  • Power BI (preferred)
  • Experience with system implementation/improvement
  • Experience within a Private-Equity-backed business
