Interim Financial Controller/Project Accountant

Accountancy Recruit is partnering a growing business in Manchester city centre to appoint an interim Financial Controller or Project Accountant. The role would suit a career interim who operates through a limited company as the project nature of this role will mean it falls outside IR35. This assignment would suit a Finance Manager, Project Accountant, Financial Controller or Finance Director who can support the FD. Transactional processing and production of monthly management accounts is currently outsourced to a 3rd party, this role will encompass working with the provider to implement processes and ensure the delivery of insightful management information and reporting to suit company requirements.

The interim Financial Controller will be responsible for the following:

• Partner with the external provider to communicate service level expectations.
• Implement processes to ensure timely processing of transactions.
• Design and communicate requirements from monthly board reporting and work with the partner to ensure timely receipt of monthly management accounts pack.
• Manage the project to ensure a smooth month end process going forward.
• Produce cashflow forecast and any ad hoc reports for the Finance Director.

To be successful in this role the interim Financial Controller will have the following experience:

• Qualified finance professional or qualified by experience.
• Proven track record of managing month end and knowing what good looks like.
• Strong process focus, ability to design and implement end to end processes across finance.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence and foster strong working relationships.
• Strong project management experience.

The rate advertised for this role is a guideline and the rate offered will be commensurate with experience.
