CFO
Hybrid role with travel to London office (near Waterloo) 

Our client, Inclusive Employers, established in 2011, is proud to be the UK’s first and leading cross sector membership organisation working with employers in their goal to build inclusive workplaces and diverse workforces.  Inclusive Employers boasts of a broad client base which includes multinationals, government institutions, public services, professional sport and sporting authorities. Working across the whole spectrum of inclusion, in addition to member services, Inclusive Employers designs and delivers training, consultancy, qualifications and benchmarking solutions and runs the annual campaign “National Inclusion Week”. They work in partnership with  members and clients  to bring together best practice and cutting edge thinking to promote innovation in this area and support employers to gain from the benefits of inclusion.

The organisation has recently been acquired by private equity investors and it is currently transitioning to a new leadership team. Run rate revenues are approximately £5m pa with strong 50% growth envisaged. Currently it has approximately 30 employees.

As a result of the external investment, Inclusive Employers are now looking to hire a CFO to partner the CEO and add strategic value at Board level. The organisation is embarking on an exciting value creation journey and would welcome a CFO to help lead the way ahead.

CFO – the role

Reports directly to CEO and Board

  • Full scope of typical CFO duties as expected in a growing SME
  • “Right hand person” to the CEO
  • Collegiate role as part of a SLT
  • Direct Board and investor relationship
  • Wide-ranging role with significant commercial input and day to day business management
  • Hybrid role with travel to London office (near Waterloo) probably 1 – 2 times per week

Key attributes:

  • Strong affinity with the culture and values of the business, i.e. diversity and inclusiveness
  • Excellent time-management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Problem solver and critical thinker mindset
  • Qualified accountant with strong technical ability
  • Track record in PE backed services businesses
  • Acquisition, fund raising and exit experience
  • Debt/covenant management experience
  • Familiarity with accounting software packages e.g. Sage useful (IE use Sage 50, but upgrade likely soon)
  • Strong knowledge of corporate financial and tax law
