A reputable, global media communications business is seeking a new Financial Controller to join the team.
The role is newly created due to international growth and will support the Head of Finance and senior management team on the running of the finance function as well as commercial duties to contribute to growth and strategy of the agency.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversight of the finance team with direct line management of two (Senior Management Accountant & Project Accountant).
- Working closely with the department heads to help them achieve targets and ensuring that they have a clear view of the financial health of their department.
- Oversight of new projects - ensuring compliance, set budgets and revenue recognition is appropriate.
- Financial lead on pitches and budget for certain divisions and assessing project profitability.
- KPIs development and analysis.
- Cost management.
- Lead on value-adding initiatives i., system enhancements, KPI development etc. Building and documenting coherent, robust processes and ensuring that these are effectively communicated across the agency.
- Lead on the annual budget and quarterly re-forecasting.
- Consolidation of monthly results and cash flow across multiple entities
- Providing variance analysis to budget and ensure balance sheet reviews are done prior to submission.
- PLC contact - overseeing intercompany recharges and liaise with Treasury on cashflow.
- Review of monthly management accounts and cashflow.
- Provide financial guidance and strategic analysis to senior non-finance stakeholders.
- Overseeing the work of the team and ensure it is performed correctly across payment runs, billing, payroll and debt collection.
- Preparation of statutory accounts for three entities, risk management and taking lead on the audit.
- Additional ad hoc tasks and analysis to support the senior leadership team and wider business.
The ideal candidate will have strong rounded controls and accounting experience and will have qualified in either audit or industry. Candidates should have good business acumen with the ability to communicate well with stakeholders at all levels and contribute to business planning and decision making. Ideally you will have worked in a similar natured role in a creative environment and have some experience managing or supervising team members.
