Elevation Recruitment Group are partnering with a fast growing private equity backed business to recruit a Financial Controller.
This is a new role, that has been created due to the ongoing growth of the Group. Currently there are three business within the Group, and this is expected to double over the next 12 - 18 months, through continued acquisitions.
This role will be a key member of the finance and acquisition team and will play a pivotal in the development of the finance function following a number of acquisitions.
Responsibilities will include:
* Line manage the Finance Managers and support their professional development through 1-2-1 reviews, coaching and performance appraisals
* Understand weekly sales, dispatches, financial commitments and prepare weekly consolidated cashflow for all companies
* Consolidated 12-week rolling cashflow and optimise working capital management to improve cashflow
* Support the preparation of management accounts and review to ensure managements have integrity, accurate and comply with UK GAAP/IFRS
* Oversee the creation of comprehensive, robust monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting cycle to ensure compliance with HMRC, FCA, GDPR and Money Laundering
* Working with the Finance Managers prepare annual budgets with supporting schedules for each company and trading area
* Working with the Finance Managers to prepare forecasts with supporting schedules for each company with particular emphasis on EBITDA/EBIT
* Support the preparation of management accounts for each business divisions, Sales, Service and Shop and Business Partner heads of service to support departmental objectives
* Review the system and processes within the finance team, challenge status quo and recommend improvements to drive efficiency and assist with their implementation
* Plan & carry out periodic internal audits within companies to police internal controls and to create a culture of strong control environment
* Key contact for external auditors for planning and co-ordinating on-site audits and to ensure prior year audit management letter points have been fully actioned/implemented
* To carry out any other tasks of a similar nature as required at the discretion of the Chief Financial Officer
* Understand the 90/60-day post acquisition plan and working with acquisitions Finance Manager deliver objectives & deadlines on a timely manner
* Understand the acquisitions deal structure and prepare completion accounts
* Devise a forward plan to ensure deferred payments/ earnout structures is on track and any financial covenants are reviewed on a periodic basis
* Devise standardised weekly dashboard reporting across all acquisitions
Key skills / qualifications:
* Experience in a Financial Management role
* Track record of driving strong financial performance and coaching & developing teams
* A qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
* Excellent technical skills with strong knowledge of UK GAAP and ideally IFRS
* Excellent Business Partner with experience of producing reports to internal and external stakeholders on financial and non-financial key performance indicators
* Proven track record of leading teams, coaching, developing and empowering staff
