Group Financial Controller - Leading AIM Listed PLC

What you’ll be doing:
As Group Financial Controller, you’ll be primarily responsible for driving change and delivering best practice rigour within a global business looking to transform its back office operations. The Group Financial Controller will assume ownership of all aspects of internal and external financial reporting, policies, processes and controls. This is a critical leadership position and a key part of an ongoing finance transformation programme which includes the implementation of a new global ERP system and a new target operating model.
Reporting to the CFO, the Group Financial Controller will lead and manage a finance community of 100+ staff via nine direct reports.

Group Financial Controller Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly internal reporting, consolidation and timely and accurate delivery of all group financial reporting requirements.
- Liaise with SSC teams, Divisional Finance teams and Group FP&A to ensure the timely submission and accuracy of all divisional and management reporting packs.
- Manage the annual external audit and support all external financial filing requirements.
- Support the Board, Investor Relations and Company Secretary by providing key financial information and analysis and corporate governance documentation.
- Lead the development and rollout of Group accounting policies and the evaluation of new accounting standards.
- Ongoing development of the Group’s control environment, set up of new controls team, implementation of new global control framework across the Group, with enhanced process documentation, training and reporting.
- Drive continuous process improvement projects to provide more insightful and accurate reporting whilst also significantly reducing reporting timescales.
- Functional owner for the development, implementation and ongoing improvements of the new global ERP system to deliver more efficient processes, stronger financial controls and enhanced outputs.
- Deliver on the Target Operating Model objectives.
What we need you to bring to the business:
- An outstanding academic record of achievement.
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification.
- Experience working for or with multinational FTSE / listed companies demonstrating strong technical skills, experience in a multi-currency environment - including hedging, foreign exchange calculations and risks and experience with acquisition accounting requirements.
- Good written and verbal communication skills coupled with the ability to reason, persuade and influence effectively.
- Experience with different finance systems ideally Microsoft D36.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels demonstrating commercial awareness and common sense.
