Leading national FMCG business seeking a Site Controller/Finance Manager in Worksop - up to £70,000 + package

Your new company
I'm delighted to be exclusively partnered with a leading, national FMCG business in their search to replace a key member of their senior leadership team acting as the lead finance person on site in Worksop, as well as deputising for the Site Director on occasion to lead the business locally.

The business are going from strength to strength and this is an exciting opportunity to join the business from both a financial and operational standpoint.

Your new role
You'll be joining the business as a key member of the senior leadership team, providing local financial and operational leadership whilst overseeing a competent and established team of 4.
Reporting to the Head of Operational Finance at Group level, you will deliver strong financial disciplines, Commercial/Operational challenge and high-quality reporting to both the business and the group.

Typical responsibilities as part of the role are:

  • Own, through the team, all aspects of site Financial reporting (Annual, Monthly, Weekly or Daily) to internal and external stakeholders at the required standard and quality.
  • Further developing lean accounting to ensure right data; right time; right value;
  • Compile, challenge and reconcile Budgeting, Forecasting and 5-year plan processes;
  • Drive an improvement culture, measuring/monitoring and advising on major site initiatives;
  • Support and challenge Overhead and Labour control through a defined monthly process;
  • Deliver strong control over Capital including forecast accuracy and capital reviews (pre and post);
  • Accurately control and forecast cash and working capital;
  • Challenge and support the Commercial teams to deliver accurate forecasts and enhance profitability through promotional activity;
  • Challenge and support the costing process including standards review;
  • Oversee the inflation / deflation pass-through mechanism with Tesco including 'open book' analysis and ABCDE model;
  • Provide leadership for key business integration projects such as the recent SSC transition;
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with the site SLT, in particular the Site Director along with all other functional managers in the business;
  • Site lead for IT, liaising with Group to ensure it is able to support the business appropriately;
  • Deputise for Site Director where appropriate;

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will be a competent senior leader with a confidence operating at a high level, liaising with stakeholders (both financial and non-financial) at all levels and ideally come from a Food background (or similar, fast moving manufacturing background).

  • Be a qualified accountant
  • Have experience in managing teams
  • Able to demonstrate expertise in all aspects of manufacturing and commercial finance, including management of product mix and complexity, management of margins in volatile commodity markets (including the use of inflation/deflation 'flow through' cost models with the retailers) and rigorous cost management;
  • Have experience of and be the catalyst for the delivery of business improvement projects;
  • Demonstrate the ability to influence others at all levels in the Group.
  • SAP knowledge/experience preferred but not essential

What you'll get in return
This is a key role for the organisation so a consistent 'on-site' presence so a preference for being in the office at least 4 days per week would be of significant benefit, however flexibility can be available occasionally for 3 days per week.

  • Salary - up to £70,000 depending on experience
  • £9,000 car allowance/fully electric car option
  • Pension - up to 7% matched
  • Healthcare
  • Subsidised restaurant
  • 25 days + statutory holiday
  • Annual pay reviews
  • Training and progression opportunities
