Marks Sattin are currently working wth a listed business in Sheffield to assist in the recruitment of a Finance Project Manager.

To work as part of the Finance Projects and Systems team, using finance subject matter expertise to provide Business Analysis (BA) and Project Management (PM) support to finance change initiatives. This could include finance technology projects, other operating model transformations or finance process-improvement through automation or more traditional business process re-engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Be pro-active in identifying financial risks, opportunities and impacts of projects / initiatives on finance process and control.
  • Ensure that the customer need is always at the centre of solution design activity.
  • Champion the customer and retain a customer focus through daily routines.
  • Support the wider team, prioritising key Finance Projects and Systems team deliverables when necessary
  • Develop and maintain relationships across Finance, technology and other business functions to understand and meet their needs.
  • Communicate clearly across finance to understand business requirements and ensure that solution designs and project delivery approaches meet these needs.
  • Encourage, coach and support other team members in specific PM and BA tools and techniques as required
  • Role model ways of working.
  • Ensure improvement in efficiency of finance processes, challenging what we do and why.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the finance systems architecture and Ways of Working.
  • Ensure all project deliverables are in line with operational and financial controls.
  • Manage scope and control requests for change to baselined plans, requirements and design deliverables.
  • Apply appropriate impact assessment and approval governance processes.

Skills:

  • A professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) is preferable.
  • ISEB/BCS or equivalent qualification in Business Analysis, or equivalent in depth knowledge gained through experience.
  • Able to manage multiple projects of medium to large size and complexity
  • Able to work with ambiguity to derive clear business objectives and requirements
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present to a range of audiences, acting as a translator between Finance and Technology
  • The ability to motivate others and lead change
  • Able to work under pressure on multiple projects within time, cost and quality objectives
  • The ability to influence others to achieve goals across diverse teams
  • A proven track record of delivering Finance transformation projects, preferably within a retail, logistics or manufacturing businesses
  • Previous Business Analyst experience of workshop facilitation, requirements management, process mapping and business solution design.
  • Experience of providing Finance Subject Matter Expertise in a change delivery environment
