Marks Sattin are currently looking for an ambitious, technically strong qualified Accountant who is Practice trained with around 5 years PQE and either looking for a first step out of practice, or a new challenge having already made the move in to industry role is for a Senior Finance Manager to join our clients Finance Reporting Team.

The successful candidate will report in to the Director of Finance and you will have a significant level of responsibility and will be expected to lead the development of all technical accounting requests within the Division.

The responsibility.

Group financial statements (IFRS):

  • Help run the annual audit and preparation of Group financial statements.
  • Assisting in the preparation and review of consolidated Board reporting packs.
  • Own the Group reporting of hedge accounting & strategic investments.
  • Review the Group's accounting policies and how they are being applied in practice to ensure they comply with relevant accounting standards and are consistently applied across the Group.
  • Assist with the on-boarding of new acquisitions including acquisition accounting, alignment of accounting policies, systems and processes.
  • Run the annual tax consolidation process working closing with the Head of Tax.

Subsidiary financial statements (FRS 101 and 102):

  • Own the audit process and accounts preparation for the subsidiary financial statements.

Treasury:

  • Working closely with the Treasury Manager assist with the management of the Group's treasury function including reviewing:
    • Monthly cashflow forecasts
    • Foreign currency transactions
  • Continue to build relationships with the Group banking partners.
  • Help develop opportunities for cash savings through better foreign exchange management.

Team:

  • Manage, coach and develop a team with responsibilities for Group reporting and treasury functions. This will entail bringing in and developing new talent where appropriate, seeking efficiencies, centralising, continuous assessment and motivation.

Other:

  • Lead the corporate simplification process working with Company Secretarial, Property and Tax teams to help strike off and liquidate companies within the Group structure that are no longer required.
  • Work alongside the Internal Controls Manager to ensure that robust financial controls are deployed across the Group to the highest standard.
  • First point of call for technical accounting advice to senior management and members of the wider finance team.
  • Monitor emerging accounting and reporting requirements, assessing the impact on the business & reporting to senior management.
