A high calibre Head of Finance is required for an exciting Oxford start up. This exciting company is going through a very dynamic phase in its development. Over the next 12 months, the team will be rapidly expanding as we develop our R&D activities.
 
To support this dynamic start up growth, there is a need for a talented and motivated part time Head of Finance. Ideally the role will be 3- 4 days per week.
 
The role will work closely with the CEO and be responsible for setting up the finance framework. You will be a trusted finance advisor during this exciting and challenging development phase.
 
As Head of Finance, you will report to the dynamic CEO. We are seeking a highly organised, proactive individual to join our team and be an integral part of the company as we grow. We are looking for someone that is a self-starter, happy to jump in when required in what will be a dynamic working environment.
 
The Financial Controller will take responsibility for financial and operational control. A key initial task will be to establish a system to support the operational costing.
  
Responsibilities: 

• Budget and projections.
• Management Accounts.
• Chasing up any deviations in actual results from budget compliance.
• Monitoring and updating of forecasts.
• Management of cash balances.
• Leading on all tax matters, both employment and Corporate.
• Board and Company Secretary (Coordinate all meetings).
• Coordination of audit committee, and audit processes (preparation of papers and accounts, and liaising with auditors).
• Documenting financial policies, accounting manuals, and tax fraud prevention precautions.
• Supporting with grant applications/fundraising budgets.
• Set up & manage the Company Option Scheme.
• Supporting investor relations (including quarterly reporting, and annual reports).

As Head of Finance, you must have the ability to develop financial reporting to highlight the challenges and future needs of the business. This role requires an individual who can add considerable value to the senior management team.
