Management Accountant
Reports to: Finance Department Head
3 days per week office [Canary Wharf/Billingsgate] / Hybrid
£30k to £40k Pay range based on experience/candidate
About the Role
Reporting into the Finance Department Head, the Management Accountant will be responsible for running the financial ledgers of the Wholesale and D2C businesses of Wright Bros. driving continued improvement in process, accuracy and efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Key responsibility for the month end close activities including accruals, prepayments and other month-end journals including recharges
- Production of management accounts with variance analysis, commentary, and cost analysis by dept/sites.
- Key responsibility to undertake bank reconciliations and prepare monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations for all other balance sheet nominal accounts; including the maintenance of a detailed Fixed Asset Register for all sites
- Working with the AP & AR Manager on debtors and creditors reporting including queries
- Responsible for accurate preparation of weekly Aged Trade Creditor Reporting to the Finance Department Head for consideration in the weekly payment run & for setting up the weekly payment run for the Wholesale and D2C businesses online based on the agreed payments.
- Assisting with the year-end auditing process by preparing all lead schedules and any information requests for the Wholesale and D2C Businesses for the audit fieldwork. Answering all first queries from Auditors on these nominal accounts. Posting of any post audit adjustments required and reconciliation and responsibility for brought forward balances in the new financial year to the Wholesale and D2C Businesses.
- Assist the FP&A Analyst with the Weekly Flash Reporting across all business channels by collation of one source of data and meaningful commentary from Business Leaders for distribution in a timely manner to key stakeholders
- Key responsibility to review, monitor and challenge weekly stock take reporting and analyse variances requesting the business to revisit stock counts, receipt of goods or wastage reporting where applicable
- Actively participate in the development and improvement of finance processes, policies, and internal control procedures
- Work closely with the Finance Department Head to ensure smooth operation of all finance matters and undertake any other duties as required by the Finance Department Heads.
Qualifications and experience:
- CIMA or ACCA Part Qualified/Finalist with strong management accounting skills
- Minimum 4+ years’ experience in broad finance and management accounts within a SME
- Be able to build strong relationships with business leaders, key members of staff including non-fin teams
- Self-starter, who can pick up tasks quickly, understand the bigger picture and self-manage their workload and prioritise tasks
- Be driven to deadlines whilst maintaining strong financial accounting integrity
- Strong attention to detail and a ‘Can Do’ attitude is essential
- Proficiency in Excel
- Knowledge and understanding of accounting systems; Microsoft Dynamics NAV particularly desirable
