Your new role
They have an exciting new opportunity for a dynamic and energetic Financial Controller to join their established, growing team based in Northampton. Reporting into the Finance Director and working closely with the Finance Manager and their team, you would be joining the business at an exciting time as it goes through its' next growth phase where you will support new acquisitions and contracts to ensure they are integrated efficiently and effectively from a finance perspective. Responsibilities will include:
- Lead the integration of new contracts and potential acquisitions from a financial control and reporting perspective.
- Produce detailed financial reports and prepare timely and reliable financial information and reconciliations.
- Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures, ensuring compliance to Group policy.
- Establish & monitor KPIs (invoice erroring rates, suppliers reconciled, debtor days etc.) for finance operations.
- Streamline and improve processes and procedures across the business.
- Perform periodic reviews of month end accounts for each entity across the group to ensure accuracy.
- Work with the Finance Manager to meet agreed deadlines and ensure timely and accurate reporting to the Company Directors
- Working with the Finance Director to prepare annual forecasts.
- Assist where required with large tenders.
- Oversee the annual audit for the Group with the assistance of the Finance Manager
- Ensuring the business maintains a strong financial control environment.
- Carry out other duties which fall within reasonable expectations of the role.
What you'll need to succeed
The right person for this role will be fully qualified, or close to qualifying with a demonstrable background in management accounting. You will be commercially savvy, numerically sound with solid analytical skills. As well as being an enthusiastic and energetic team player, you will have a professional and diligent approach to work, a keen eye for detail and a confident and communicative nature. Expert knowledge of excel is key, acquisitions experience an advantage but not essential. The ability to travel within the UK and potentially in Europe is essential.
