We are currently working exclusively with well-established client with the North West who are looking to grow and develop the organisation with an exciting new offering for their market. The organisation has already made a great start with how they wish to establish themselves internationally.

 

The business is a new and exciting venture that requires a strong and commercially focused Finance Director to join the Board and provide financial structure and advice in their growth plans and expansion of the organisation on an international basis.

  • Develop a KPI reporting suite to represent month end variances around the cost of sales, product analysis, customer trends and margin controls.
  • Weekly and monthly cash flow forecasting, managing the Group Treasury function with ease, compliance, and accuracy.
  • Manage all currency hedging and FX rates to continuously monitor the treasury position across the Group.
  • Monitoring all contract pricing, margin achievement, internal expenditure and commercial activity alongside the sales, operational and commercial teams
  • Manage all financial compliance matters including all VAT/HMRC and PAYE contributions not only within the UK, but across Europe
  • Prepare the budgeting and forecasting models across all aspects of the business and continually re-forecast where necessary.
  • Establish and manage an effective fixed asset register and associated capital expenditure planning.
  • Establish effective stock/inventory reporting across multi sites, including movements and stock levels.
  • Develop the month end reporting pack and establish comprehensive Board report, including tighter controls/process’ at all levels within the balance sheet/profit and loss.
  • Main point of contact for supply chain contracts and pricing negotiations
  • Understanding of the end-to-end process on a European scale, of the movement of goods and associated VAT/Tax implications
  • Be the main point of contact for all legal, insurance and professional services discussions representing the business at a high level.

The successful candidate would be able to demonstrate the following attributes and in return would be offered an excellent opportunity to join a business that could be a regional success story.

  • Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA A minimum of 3 - 4 years’ post qualifying experience working in a managerial role within a finance department of a commercial trading SME, (ideally owner managed business)
  • Experience in the development and installation of SOP / Stock Control systems Be a strong technical reporting accounting with working knowledge of UK/US GAAP and IFRS compliance
  • Have experience of managing all the financial reporting aspects of a SME business, including all statutory reporting and compliance, providing accurate management information and projections
  • Able to operate in a fast-paced ever-changing environment, and be comfortable acting with the Board, internal colleagues, service/supplier providers and customers. 
  • Good interpersonal skills, capable of communicating effectively, and representing the Company to a high standard.
  • Enthusiastic character with a proactive approach and desire to be involved in all aspects of the business.
