School Finance Manager (Part or Fully Qualified) | Permanent | £38,000 - £43,250 | Office Based in Swindon


Your new company
You'll be joining an established, large, and fully inclusive school in Swindon to manage the small finance team, systems, and procedures, as well as proactively supporting the Finance Director. This is an office-based position in Swindon with free parking and multiple benefits including an excellent pension scheme.

Your new role
You'll be responsible for day to day management of the small finance team. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of monthly close down including bank reconciliations, payroll, and other balance sheet control accounts.
  • Assisting with monthly management accounts including annual projections and budget variances.
  • Monitoring liquidity and bank balances and ensuring that the treasury management policy is followed.
  • Completion and submission of the monthly VAT return.
  • Ownership and maintenance of the financial policy and procedures.
  • Income monitoring and management.
  • Management of internal and external audit.
  • Support the wider team and Finance Director with any ad-hoc duties or projects.


What you'll need to succeed
You'll need to be an experienced, hands-on accountant with experience working within a finance team in the UK. Full qualification is not essential but an AAT Level 4 or ACCA/CIMA part-qualification is required. Previous experience working within the education sector is highly desirable.
