The firm

A leading top 20 mid-tier firm (based on accountancy age mid-tier power index ) is looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious semi-senior to join their OMB tax team. You will be a current corporation or mixed tax trainee/semi-senior looking to work with a firm that can match your ambitions.

Shortlisted in top 5 for mid-tier firm of the year and tax team of the year at the British Accountancy Awards 2019.
Winners of Tax Advisory Firm of the year at the Parker Randall International network awards 2018 and audit firm of the year 2019.

You will be joining a very sociable vibrant office, with regular nights out and an inclusive culture.
The firm is led by a young and ambitious partner group who have demonstrated that rapid career growth is achievable for high performers. The firm as a whole has approximately 70 staff and the tax team is currently 11 members strong and growing rapidly.

Your experience

Preferably ATT qualified and already a CTA student. Will consider trainees who are part way through their ATT training
Experience of managing a portfolio of clients.
Excellent communication skills a must.

The role

We are looking for a tax semi-senior to work with our existing tax team and partner group to work on a portfolio of important corporate clients to the firm. The role will also offer advisory work on the portfolio. You will have your own portfolio of corporate tax clients. There will also be the opportunity to work on personal tax returns if that is desirable. This role offers progression for the right candidate. Training and study support will be made available for CTA (and ATT if relevant).

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Working on your portfolio of corporate clients including groups
  • Preparing corporation tax returns in your portfolio and reviewing tax returns completed by the accounts team.
  • Working directly with partners, senior members of the tax team and liaising with other teams to deliver results
  • Assisting with preparation of P11Ds, Employment Related Securities Returns, ATED Returns etc
  • Advisory work under the guidance of senior team members such as:
  • Client remuneration strategies
  • Capital Allowance computations
  • Allocation of group losses
  • R&D computations and assisting with claims for relief
  • Helping with enquiry work
  • Technical research to provide possible solutions to complex tax issues
