The role is primarily responsible for the management of Accounts Receivable and Cashbook, but will be required to cover and have working knowledge of Accounts Payable.
JOB OVERVIEW
- Responsible for the management of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cashbook.
- A good understanding of accounting principles is required, to assist in the preparation of monthly and annual accounts.
- You must also be able to manage your own workload and have a proven ability in the use of spreadsheet packages.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Accounts Payable duties including:
- Liaising with suppliers.
- Provide support/cover to Accounts Receivable when required.
- Registering and processing purchase invoices.
- Ensuring invoices are passed for payment in a timely fashion.
- Month end closing activities.
- Credit card and general expense claims.
Accounts Receivable duties including:
- Cash allocation.
- Provide support/cover to Accounts Payable when required.
- Credit control and escalation of non-payments from customers.
- Preparing for and holding monthly internal debtors’ meetings.
- Responsibility for self-billing invoices.
- Reconciling and closure of sales ledger and bank accounts at month end.
- Month end closing activities.
Additional responsibilities and Duties include:
- Liaising with all company stakeholders.
- Completion of month end tasks within strict timeframes.
- Assisting in all areas during busy periods such as month end and when holiday cover is required.
- Any other reasonable duties, including other ad-hoc administrative accounts duties, as requested by the Management Accountant or Finance and Compliance Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
- Maths and English O’Level/GCSE (or equivalent) grade C or above
- Previous experience within an Accounts position.
- Good bookkeeping knowledge
- Fully competent with MS Excel and Word, with a proven ability in the use of spreadsheet packages including the ability to design spreadsheet models.
DESIRABLE
- Maths / Accountancy degree or equivalent accountancy qualification.
- Accounting Systems experience
- Intermediate level of Excel
