Our client is an exciting service business with a buy and build strategy and is PE Funded .

This is a newly created role .

The role of Financial  Accountant will  work closely with the CFO. There is no fixed location for the role as staff work primarily from home but there will be a requirement to travel on average one day per week around the UK – mainly to Manchester and Birmingham.

There are a number of core tasks within the role but also many one-off projects dependent on the business needs. The candidate would be expected to develop and understanding of all areas of the business and add value to the group. The Finance team is a small, efficient team and the candidate will be able to get involved in all areas and will need a can-do attitude and the mentality to muck in as required. The client  is planning to grow quickly so the candidate will need to be able to develop with the company.

For guidance purposes examples of types of work likely to be undertaken are as follows:

Core Tasks in support of the FD and CFO:

  • Prepare interim and full year financial accounts (UK GAAP) for the Company and Group and acting as a key contact with the auditors in the audit process.
  • Develop and run monthly financial control processes and look to streamline the month end reporting schedule.
  • Preparation of budgets, forecasts and business plans and continued monitoring & review of performance against them to enable robust, regular reporting.

Examples of project work-

  • Support in M&A activity. Review of financial processes of targets and integration of financial reporting into the Group
  • Financial modelling for purposes of fund-raising and lenders.
  • Review of Finance systems and implementation of new solutions.

The Candidate for Project Accountant

 

You should be a recently qualified ACA seeking a 1st or 2nd move after qualification

 

It is anticipated that, this role will act as a stepping stone either to a career in industry (as F.C or F.D) The candidate will undoubtedly learn an incredible amount in the period whilst in office and will have the opportunity to have direct contact and will work with senior board members and other high profile external organisations. The candidate will have a significant opportunity to improve their overall profile in the Group and their own individual career progression.
