Our client is a privately owned, managed services provider with a track record of partnering their customers with a winning combination of expertise and innovation.

Fully funded and on a rapid scaling and value creation journey, they are now looking to add to their leadership team with the addition of a new Finance Director. This is a Board role but also will be very much hands. It is a multi-faceted, supporting the MD, driving the strategic agenda and also transforming the finance function and the processes, systems and business intelligence to engender and support profitable growth.

Scaling is planned on a largely organic basis although there may be some M&A activity also. The Finance Director should be comfortable in and have gained previous experience at the heart of an evolving and expanding operation and possess real financial leadership, able to communicate and inspire across functions and levels and deliver audience appropriate financial insight. 

In the mid – term a value realization event is envisaged and the Finance Director will also play an important role in this process.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Overview and ownership of reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, risk management and performance improvement;
  • Hands on in scenario modelling and KPI analysis;
  • Partnering the MD to drive a value-add and accountable culture focused on delivering the strategic plan;
  • Ownership of relationship with key stakeholders / investors;
  • Ownership of the supplier and procurement processes.

 

Likely candidates will be team oriented, adaptable, and able to challenge established process in a constructive way.

They will have a results focused, business-first mindset and a real focus on a value creation agenda.  

They will be Chartered accountant/ ACA qualified ideally with previous leadership experience in an SME.

They will have been on a previous scaling journey involving transformational change, ideally in a managed / professional service environment and some exposure to PE / VC / Exit will be useful.
