Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with a profitable and well established manufacturing business in Sheffield as they look to recruit a Financial Controller to work closely with the Finance Director. As well as maintaining robust financial process and controls in the production of accounting information for the business, you will also have the responsibility of managing 4 members of staff within finance.

Due to the technical nature of the role, this role would be ideal for a second time mover from practice, looking for their next step within in a management role.

Please note that With the role being a management role, it is primarily office based but with some occasional flexibility to work from home.

Duties & Responsibilities will include:

* Working as a member of the Senior Management Team
* Leading a team of 4 people; AP Supervisor, Assistant Accountant and 2 Accounts Assistants
* Management of UK finance and accounting functions (excluding credit control)
* Preparation of management information including management accounts and various reports
* Preparation of statutory accounts and information required for tax computations
* Maintenance and development of internal controls to ensure SOX compliance
* Liaison with external and internal auditors, including preparation of all required information and ensuring the smooth running of all audits
* Coordination and review of financial information from businesses overseas
* Point of contact for external auditors
* Supporting the Finance Director in terms of certain projects within the department
* Continuous improvement of systems and processes

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experiences:

* ACCA/ ACA/ CIMA Qualified
* Post-qualification experience in a financial management role
* Experience of financial reporting within a large multi-national group would be an advantage
* A background in auditing, giving a broad-based business experience would be an advantage
* Experience of ERP systems, preferably in a manufacturing environment
* Excellent analytical skills
* Strong IT/systems skills: advanced proficiency in MS Excel
* Experience in databases and SQL would be an advantage
