This is an exciting new vacancy with a vibrant services company enjoying considerable growth. The role of Commercial Accountant will report directly into the FD with an emphasis on reporting on project profitability and supporting regional offices. The successful candidate will become a vital member of the team and will have the opportunity to influence decision making and drive growth. The key responsibilities for this commercial finance position will be:

•    Reviewing financial performance including variance analysis against budget
•    Preparation of monthly revenue forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities
•    Supporting the month end process, reviewing WIP and overhead analysis
•    Reviewing sales management systems, identifying trends and regional patterns
•    Produce monthly management reports for senior management
•    Conducting monthly review meetings with different regions
•    Support the budgeting process with accurate cost and performance projections
•    Assisting with new business proposals and tender enquiries

The Commercial Accountant will be expected to work with key stakeholders across the business at both Manager and Director level across sales, projects and central finance. The ideal candidate would have a strong financial reporting and analysis skillset coupled with excellent communication and presentation skills. Previous knowledge of contract accounting would be highly beneficial but not essential, as a minimum you must have knowledge of basic management accounting procedures – budgeting, variance analysis, forecasting, journal processing etc. Advanced Excel skills will be important as you be working with financial models and a variety of other IT / Accounting systems. To be considered for this role you must be an excellent relationship builder able to influence across a broad range of finance and non-finance stakeholders.
