Finance Director

We are supporting a PE-backed professional services group to hire their first Finance Director.

Working alongside the CEO and supporting the PE House and Divisional Managing Directors, this role will have responsibility for

• Support the CEO in driving a cultural shift towards a KPI driven, action/outcome-oriented business, with a focus on value creation.
• The MDs of each operational division by providing clear, concise and actionable reporting and information and developing their knowledge, expertise and comfort in dealing with financial KPIs.
• Day to day responsibility for the finance function including all statutory reporting, management information, corporation tax and VAT.
• Develop internal business intelligence reporting processes to facilitate improved decision making.
• Support the development of Head of Finance and maturity of finance function.
• Primary point of escalation for all financial matters and queries.
• Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, in particular private equity investors and banks, managing the relationship through concise, regular communication.

Skills and experience:

• Background in a SME growing organisation
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and coaching skills
• Some PE exposure would be helpful, but isn't essential
• Ability to get into the detail of reporting, systems and controls - as well as supporting the business strategy and see the bigger picture
