Group Financial Accountant | Manchester city centre (hybrid) | £50,000 - £60,000 + bonus | PE backed
Axon Moore are working with a highly acquisitive services business who are searching for a Group Financial Accountant to join their newly created group function. Private equity backed, the business has increased their turnover from £60m to over £150m in the last 2 years due to acquisition.
As the Group Financial Accountant, you will be expected to demonstrate initiative and leadership skills, be a confident communicator and have experience of maintaining strong and robust financial controls and processes. You will be responsible for:
- Production of accurate group consolidated monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow statement) in line with deadlines.
- Responsible for all monthly and ad-hoc reporting to Private Equity owners.
- Month-end ledger close for bank, accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger for all companies.
- Ownership of certain central cost centres, ensuring management accounts are accurate and challenging the results against budget.
- Responsible for maintaining detailed balance sheet reconciliations for all companies.
- Preparation of statutory accounts in accordance with FRS102 and one of the main points of contact for external auditors.
- Work with our external corporation tax advisors and provide information for the preparation of tax computations and tax returns.
- Budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Improve current group reporting, ensuring there is a defined process when new acquisitions are brought into the group and all relevant data is held centrally.
- Preparation of financial reports on a timely basis, providing accurate commentary and investigation into variances when required.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects e.g., new finance system being implemented this year.
- Assist with new acquisitions where needed and ensure their results can be consolidated into the group accounts.
Person specification:
- ACA/ACCA Qualified with a top 10 accounting background
- Offer considerable experience in preparing and/or auditing statutory accounts
- Possess strong numeracy and analytical skills, supported by excellent technical skills.
