Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working on a retained basis with Skanwear,
a well established and growing SME Business in Doncaster as they look to bring in a new Financial Controller to work closely with the directors.

The role will be based out of their Head Office in Finningley, Doncaster. They have a current annual turnover of approximately £15 Million which is set to double in size over the next 2-3 years, so this is an exciting time to join the business and be part of the journey.

Trading since 1989, Skanwear specialise in the supply of electrical safety personal protective equipment (PPE). Their high-quality clothing items and accessories provide their customers with the protection to safeguard against the devastating effects of electric shock and arc flash. They operate on a global scale, shipping to over 76 countries and have office locations based in United Kingdom, USA, Switzerland, Australia and Sweden.

The purpose of the Finance Manager role is to ensure the financial department of Skanwear is running optimally and efficiently to enable the business to have a timely and accurate understanding of its financial situation from both a rear and forward-looking aspect. It is imperative that the financial systems and information is robust and best placed in order for the business to make the right strategic decisions as well as ensuring timely management of financial transactions.

Duties will and varied and not limited to:

· Produce monthly management accounts (Including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet)
· Budgeting and forecasting
· Revenue and expenditure variance analysis
· Business partnering with MD and other business leaders to help strategically align finance in accordance with business goals
· Identifying opportunities for cash and profit optimisation
· Cash Flow forecasting
· Monitoring and reporting of KPIs
· Variance Analysis along with related commentary
· Presenting financial information to the directors, including highlighting any areas of concern and opportunities for development
· VAT and Intrastat Returns
· ONS returns/ submissions
· Managing 2 members of staff in the department; Mentoring and leading the team, carrying out individual team 121's
· Managing the annual budget setting process
· Preparing accounts for year-end close as well provision of necessary information for the external accountants
· Manage and oversee the daily financial transactions across the department, including; accounts payable, accounts receivable, payments schedules, cash receipts, expense authorisation/payments and general ledger
· Treasury/ Bank management
· Monitor and analyse accounting data and publish financial reports or statements
· Ad-hoc reporting as requested by directors and management
· Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
· Develop and further improve existing financial systems and procedures as well internal controls

In terms of the person, Skanwear are looking for applicants with the following skills and attributes:

· CIMA/ ACCA/ ACA Qualified
· Wholesale/ Retail experience would be desirable although not essential
· Staff management experience would be preferable
· Able to engage well with stakeholders at any level
· Good communication skills, both written and verbal
· Excellent organizational, planning and research skills
· Superior attention to detail
· Analytical mindset, with ability to digest complex sets of data, text and information
· Good IT Skills (Well versed in MS Office suite, especially Excel and the ability to adapt and learn the use of NetSuite)
· Ability and desire to create and embrace new and innovative ways of doing things
· Curious about gaining increased knowledge and understanding of business principles and practices
· A passion for the businesses and it's goals including its mission to help save lives
