Financial Controller job near Flint for large manufacturing site.


Hays Senior Finance are working closely with a global manufacturing group who are looking to appoint a qualified Financial Controller to their state of the art manufacturing facility near Flint. The wider Group has broad business interests in a number of markets and a global turnover well in excess of £1bn. The UK business has a strong history and ongoing investment into the plant will help future proof the business and give it a competitive advantage.

As Financial Controller you will be responsible for developing robust financial systems and processes to support two business units as well as significantly contributing to implementing the capital investment plans for a major investment project. You will be a motivated, dynamic finance professional capable of making a real difference in developing and shaping financial operations and the future finance strategy. You will be proactive, forward thinking and an expert in data analytics and in using modern analytical tools.

You will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining the integrity of financial transactions, processes and systems and ensuring compliance with global and UK standards and regulations to all IFRS and other legal compliance standards.
  • Devising and implementing key business processes and tools from scratch in order to ensure robust finance and control processes are in place in order to manage, develop and grow the business.
  • Managing finance operations including purchase to pay, source to cash, record to report and banking processes as well as managing internal control and audit processes.
  • Supporting monthly closing processes including reconciliations and analytics to enable timely and accurate business reporting.
  • Preparing UK statutory reporting and all processes contributing to their completion. This will include VAT related processes, taxation, internal controls and asset accounting.
  • Preparing of statistical returns and other statutory returns as needed.
