Assistant Accountant

Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be working exclusively with a leading and well established retail group as they look to recruit an Assistant Accountant for their team. This is a newly created role and has come about due to the continued growth of the organisation.

It will be a varied role with duties to include:

* Provide transaction processing and financial analysis support to the finance team
* Supporting the monthly review of the financial performance of the group, including performing analysis of variances against budgets and production of management accounts
* Preparing and inputting ledger journals as required
* Assisting with monthly reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts and resolution of queries
* Assisting with monthly Payroll
* Preparation of weekly supplier payment runs
* Maintaining daily bank and cash records as well as the short-term cash flow forecast
* Any ad-hoc analysis tasks as required by Management

The successful Assistant Accountant will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:

* Excellent working knowledge of Excel - including Pivot Tables, Sumif, Countif, & Vlookup functions
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
* Ability to use own initiative
* Good communication skills
* Good analytical skills
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy
