A key leadership position within a forward-looking and diverse rural estates business whose interests include property, farming, forestry, leisure and hospitality. This privately held business is seeking an astute and driven individual to lead it into an audited environment whilst acting as a catalyst for growth and positive change. The Head of Finance will not only ensure effective financial management of the current enterprises but also help to shape the development of a dynamic business that has custodianship, innovation and sustainability at its core.
 

THE POSITION

• Lead and develop the finance team to ensure that it provides insightful management accounts, completes timely reporting, and delivers a robust financial planning cycle.
• Develop strong relationships internally and externally to ensure that the finance function supports decision-making and effectively manages cash, capital and tax liabilities for each division of the business.
• Play a key role, as part of the business’s senior leadership, in developing and scrutinising business plans and investment opportunities, and reinforcing a positive and inclusive culture.
• Seek out opportunities to enhance efficiencies including through the adoption of new technologies and systems.
   

THE CANDIDATE

• A driven and commercially minded qualified accountant with an inquiring mind, who enjoys analysing, distilling and communicating financial information to facilitate effective decision-making.
• Committed to continuous improvement and fully prepared to roll up their sleeves whilst supporting colleagues to deliver the best result.
• A determined leader who is sensitive to the heritage and ethos of family-owned businesses and committed to securing the long-term prosperity of all its stakeholders.
• Ideally experienced in dealing with both the accounting and tax aspects of real estate and / or rural businesses
