SF Recruitment are seeking an ambitious and motivated individual who is keen to meet the challenges of contributing to a dynamic environment & team. As a Revenue Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate revenue recognition, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, legal, and operations, to analyse and report on revenue-related activities including aged debt reporting.
This is an exciting role for someone with experience with long term contract accounting, deferred revenue recognition and experience in a fast paced commercial environment. You will ideally be at least part qualified.
Role
- Review sales contracts and agreements to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with relevant accounting standards
- Perform detailed analysis of revenue transactions, including deferred revenue, instalment billing, and revenue accruals.
- Conduct periodic revenue reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely reporting of revenue-related activities.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators and trends.
- Analyse on and report on debtors trends, identify potential risks and make recommendations for process improvement.
- Prepare accurate reports on debtors status, collections and bad debt provisions.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including revenue-related journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of revenue recognition policies and procedures.
- Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations related to revenue recognition.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Ideally part-Qualified (ACA/ACMA/ACCA) Proven work experience in a similar role, preferably within the Service industry.
- In-depth knowledge of revenue recognition principles and accounting standards.
- Familiarity with software revenue recognition models, including SaaS, perpetual licensing, and professional services.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
