Role Summary:
SaB Consultancy are delighted to be exclusively recruiting for a Financial Business Controller to join a growing Hi Tech food ingredients business based in West Yorkshire. With an impressive track record of growth, the business has a true global footprint and is a market leader in its field of speciality.
Reporting to the Group CFO this role is an integral part of the senior leadership team, overseeing the local UK finance functions whilst leading all periodic reporting and statutory finance requirements. The role will heavily support the local commercial team with effective management information and decision making, as well as providing financial support & control to the expansion of the local business across target markets. The role will also support the international team where required, and coordinate and consolidate results for the wider group of companies.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Support the Group CFO with developing the local UK finance function, whilst ensuring consistency and cohesiveness with the wider Group of companies. Responsibility for consolidation and submission of periodic results for the wider group of companies including commentary & analysis. Support the Group CFO & UK Managing Director with timely and relevant management information. Responsibility for annual budgeting and forecast cycles, and ongoing forecast development. Effective cash management and forecasting across the business. Local lead for the UK & Consolidated Group audit process, and statutory submissions. Preparation of periodic management information to support decision making to agreed deadlines. Supporting and driving effective KPI’s across the whole UK business. Support and development of the internal ERP system. Provide financial support to the local management team supporting immediate and prospective commercial opportunities. Driving financial controls and compliance within the local business, in line with group requirements.
Candidate Profile:
My client will consider an experienced Financial Controller, or alternatively an individual with presence and the gravitas to step up into their first Finance Leadership role. The role may attract candidates from professional practice wishing to make their 1st move into industry possessing 4/5 years post qualification experience at managerial level.
Attributes:
- You must be able to demonstrate you can work with energy, gravitas and ambition coupled with a track record of having provided strong financial stewardship, commercial and business acumen in a previous role. A fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, or ACCA) with a proven track record in a finance leadership role with prior experience of consolidation of results preferable. Experience of developing financial controls, procedures, and financial management systems. Confidence and ability to present and contribute at Board level offering strategic and commercial guidance to the Group CFO and wider Group of Companies. A strong team player, able to adapt to work with people at all levels both externally and internally. Strong commercial awareness and key negotiating skills.
