The Company

My client is a market leader in the food technology manufacture industry with a growing reputation for product quality and service excellence. In line with its strategic plan the business is experiencing extraordinary growth and the need has arisen to recruit a highly competent Finance lead to support the CFO and wider Executive management team.

The Role

Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the Executive Management team you will take responsibility for all aspects of financial reporting in addition to providing critical financial insight to the future growth and success of the business.

Responsibilities:

• Manage, mentor, and motivate the Finance team in an effective manner, reporting to the CFO and supporting development of annual objectives.

• Production and control of Balance Sheet, Working Capital schedules, VAT/Duty returns, and Capital expenditure.

• Primary responsibility for maintenance, production, and enhancement of the Short-Term Cash Flow model for oversight by the CFO and Board.

• Preparation of full Annual Budget, and business reforecasts.

• Review, plan and implementation of systems, processes and controls improvements encompassing all areas of finance including Financial and Management Transactional accounting areas.

• Develop further analyses methodology so the Management and Executive team can fully understand the dynamics of the business, e.g., sales analysis, turnover and productivity.

• Support the FD in delivering an effective annual external audit, within agreed timeframes and cost, underpinning this through maintenance of Balance Sheet reconciliations and audit schedules.

• Provide support for the CFO on a day-to-day basis on various ad hoc projects.

Candidate Profile

Qualified ACA/CIMA or ACCA with a demonstrable track record of building and maintaining robust financial controls and processes ideally with previous experience in the retail sector. You will be expected to take a hands-on approach in the monthly reporting cycle, as well as the ability to add commercial and business acumen to a wide range of complex issues and multiple projects. Highly numerate you will possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate with people of all levels of seniority.
