This role covers all aspects of financial reporting and performance including statutory reporting, internal management reporting (including Board reporting) and regulatory reporting. You will need to be experienced in Statutory Reporting.

An international financial services provider with a history that began in 1874 when the business set out to provide access to life insurance for average working families. Nearly 150 years later, they provide options for insurance, pension and investments.

Description

The key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing process improvements to all reporting and internal control procedures.
  • Participating in ad-hoc projects as required.
  • Timely production of monthly and quarterly MI pack, including CEO report.
  • Annual submission of Solvency II reports to PRA.
  • Quarterly preparation and submission of Group financials under Canadian IFRS.
  • Preparation of year-end statutory accounts under IFRS for the main insurance company and UK holding company.
  • Preparing and posting journal entries into the Infor Sun System general ledger.
  • Reviewing and approving journals prepared by junior members of the team.
  • Assisting with preparation of inputs into the strategic business plan.
  • Assisting with coordination of the year end audit process.
  • Preparation /review of other statistical returns, e. ONS, ABI.
  • Maintaining procedure documents.
  • Implementing the IFRS 17 related changes to the general ledger.
  • Supporting the Finance Reporting Manager in creating an environment of continuous improvement to ensure that all reporting is conducted to the highest possible standard, within set deadlines whilst meeting efficiency requirements.

Profile

The successful Financial Reporting Accountant will have:

  • Accounting qualification (Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), with a minimum of 2 years financial reporting experience.
  • Statutory/management accounting experience is essential.
  • Solvency II experience desirable including IFRS 17.
  • Familiarity with Infor Sun accounting system would be an advantage.
  • Process automation experience desirable
  • Intermediate/Advance Excel user and proficient at Word and PowerPoint
  • Self-starter with an eye for details and determination to deliver accurate and informative results.
  • Ability to work on projects as required, understanding of deadlines and ability to cope with change.
  • Desire to maintain and develop relevant knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small team with good communication skills.

Job Offer

Salary circa £50 - £60K dependant on experience
