OUR CLIENT is a new and dynamic commercial pan-European focussed investment and asset management company with listed funds and a growth strategy in place - The company has identified an exciting new opportunity specialises in commercial for an Assistant Fund Accountant to join their Fund accounting team.
THE ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: The role of Assistant Fund Accountant will include the following:
- Accounting and bookkeeping of funds and SPVs.
- Carrying out monthly bank reconciliations and maintaining all supporting documentation.
- Responding to client queries.
- Taking responsibility for monthly financial reporting under IFRS or UK accounting principles and practices.
- Assisting senior team members in preparation of financial statements under IFRS and UK GAAP, also in populating consolidation workings and intercompany eliminations.
- Assisting in providing information to tax advisor for the preparation of CIT returns.
- Assisting in the coordination of year-end audits.
- Preparing bank payments in various banking platforms.
- Assisting in calculation of management fees.
- Performing analytical review of balance sheet items.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Liaising with various service providers to the Fund including accountants, banks, administrators, lawyers, and custodians.
- Liaising with the investment team where required and having oversight of the financial affairs and funding structure for such entities.
- Assisting in the fund budgeting and forecasting process working closely with fund modelers and the investment management teams.
- Assisting in the quarterly distribution forecast and analysis.
- Assisting in performing compliance review of the REIT rules.
THE PERSON and SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Newly qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) or near qualified.
- A minimum of 2 years working experience within an accounting team.
- Technically sound with a thorough understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Experience in statutory audit process.
- Although not essential, Yardi Voyager experience would be beneficial.
- A positive, enthusiastic, and committed individual with the ability to work with honesty, integrity and initiative.
- Willingness to learn.
- Focused and professional outlook, with a can-do mindset and the ability to work autonomously.
- Able to operate in a fast-paced environment and willing to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize and adapt at short notice.
