We are seeking a dynamic project accountant with significant experience in real estate, retail or FMCG to support the Finance Director and Financial Controller on various transformation projects.

Description
- Oversee financial aspects of various projects within the company, including real estate development, facility upgrades, and other infrastructure initiatives.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to financial regulations and policies.
- Monitor project expenditures, analyse variances, and provide regular reports to senior management, highlighting key financial insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with project teams, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective financial planning, forecasting, and cost control throughout project life cycles.
- Perform financial analysis to support decision-making processes, evaluating project feasibility, return on investment, and financial risks.
- Prepare and review financial models, projections, and cash flow forecasts for project financing and budgeting purposes.
- Coordinate with the finance team to ensure accurate project accounting, timely invoicing, and proper allocation of costs to respective projects.
- Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Support the development and improvement of project accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and financial controls.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support for other departments.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification (e., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is preferred.
- Proven experience (X years) in project accounting, ideally within the construction or real estate industry.
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles, project budgeting, and cost control practices.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and present findings to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Excellent proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies is advantageous.
- Experience working with accounting software and systems; knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
