Management Accountant

Elevation Accountancy & Finance are pleased to be recruiting a Management Accountant for a leading, international business based in the Derby area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled Management Accountant who is qualified/part qualified (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ACA) and has a minimum of 5 year's experience in management accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial operations, analysing financial data, assisting with budgeting and forecasting as well as presenting financial reports to senior management. They will need to possess excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and within a small finance team to meet deadlines.

Duties of the Management Accountant will include:

* Monthly production of management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
* Preparing financial statements and reports for senior management
* Conducting financial analysis to identify trends and potential risks and opportunities
* Assist with budgeting and forecasting; collaborating with managers to develop and manage budgets for their departments
* Reviewing and analysing costs and expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities
* Implementing financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
* Proactively conducting market analysis for updates to systems and processes
* Providing financial advice and guidance to senior management to support strategic decision-making
* Support in year-end accounts preparation
* Own and manage quarterly VAT returns
* Management of fixed asset register and monthly depreciation calculations

The ideal person will have the following attributes

* Minimum of 5 year's experience in management accounting
* Proficient in the use of financial software, Sage would be advantageous
* Knowledge of project management system
* Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
* Knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS accounting legislation
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends
* Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate financial reports
