I am pleased to be partnering with this impressive International business in their search for a UK Financial Controller. The business has a global reach and is a trusted partner for a significant amount of Blue-Chip businesses across the World. Reporting directly into the UK CFO you will be responsible for managing the UK Finance team and also the financial responsibilities associated with two significant JVs that the business is engaged on. The ideal candidate will be Practice trained, ideally with a Top10 firm, with experience of working in a manufacturing environment, either as part of an audit process or working directly for a manufacturing firm. Specific duties & responsibilities include:

* Managing a team of experienced finance individuals
* Assume responsibility for the financial accounting activities.
* Manage the preparation and filing of the annual statutory accounts.
* Manage the completion of the annual tax packs, inclusive of the coordination and review of overseas inputs into the process.
* Take lead role in managing all VAT requirements and act as the finance interface for customs compliance requirements.
* Lead, motivate and develop each member of the financial accounting team so that there is a continuous improvement in the performance of both individuals and the team.

The key skills and experience include:

* Experience leading a team.
* Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and an up-to-date understanding of financial reporting standards (UK and International).
* Highly organised, able to manage a demanding individual workload coupled with team management.
* Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills.
* Able to liaise and influence people at all levels, as well as external finance professionals.
* Strong level of independence.
* High concern for standards is essential.
