The role - Tax Partner

Adele Carr Recruitment is delighted to be working with a leading Independent Accountancy Practice with a fantastic reputation as they are recruiting for a Tax Director/Partner to join their team.

The role will cover heading up the tax team, as well as delivering tax planning assignment work, plus supporting the overall efficient running of the tax team and compliance work, and lead and support Business Development for potential tax work or new tax clients. The role covers a full mixed tax role relating to corporate and personal tax matters and tax planning areas.

The clients worked on will be mainly Owner Managed businesses and entrepreneurial businesses, including groups, overseas owned entities, plus some charitable and not for profit entities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded individual, who is looking to continue or even widen their experience and challenge themselves to work on a wide range of interesting clients within a leading independent and ambitious practice in the area.

Duties of the role include:

  • Overseeing and delivering tax planning assignments, being the lead advisor
  • Overseeing the tax department as a whole
  • Being a key point of contact for the clients with regard to tax advice and tax work, as well as being a key part of internal support for relationship partners and managers within the other disciplines in the firm for tax advice related matters.
  • Support the Corporate Finance team on transactional tax advice
  • Oversee and manage other staff as appropriate on planning assignments
  • Review the teams work
  • Support the existing compliance partner and manager in the efficient running of the compliance functions
  • Attend and hold client meetings
  • Assist with staff management, training, development and appraisals generally
  • Be involved in other ad hoc advisory and support assignments for clients

Skills and personal qualities
The successful candidate should:

  • An experienced tax professional having worked extensively in practice advising owner managed businesses and entrepreneurs
  • Be a rounded tax specialist able to cover a wide range of tax areas
  • Be commercially minded
  • Have strong Microsoft office suite skills
  • Be able to respond well to balancing work loads.
  • Be able to communicate well and have strong client facing skills.
  • Be able to be involved in or lead business development meetings and pitches for new client work
  • Be able to support the wider marketing and business development initiatives of the firm
  • Work well in a team and with a wide range of people.
  • Be organised and methodical.
  • Have strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Be proactive and able to take the initiative.
  • Be able to motivate and inspire colleagues.
