About Us:
Major Housing Association is a dynamic and growing organisation focused on providing affordable housing solutions. We manage fewer than 200 properties scaling up to 700 in build and are dedicated to creating sustainable communities through our build to rent model. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Rent Income Officer to join our team.
The Role:
As a Rent Income Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing rent collection and arrears recovery, ensuring the financial health of our association while supporting our tenants to maintain their tenancies. You will work closely with tenants, providing advice and support on income management, and will use Arthur Property Management Software to manage data and communications effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the collection of rent and service charges, ensuring timely payments.
- Monitor and manage rent arrears, initiating contact with tenants to agree on repayment plans.
- Provide advice to tenants on financial matters, including budgeting and accessing benefits.
- Utilise Arthur Property Management Software for data management and reporting.
- Prepare and issue legal notices, and represent the association in court proceedings if necessary.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on rent collection and arrears.

About You:
- Experience in rent collection, arrears management, or a similar role within housing or property management.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in using property management software, with experience in Arthur Property Management Software being an advantage.
- A proactive approach to supporting tenants and managing workload independently.
